Winter Skincare Is All About Moisturizing From The Inside Out

The key to your winter skincare routine? Hydration.

Winter Skincare Is All About Moisturizing From The Inside Out

There are plenty of nice things about winter. Snow days, cashmere, and long, simmering sauces for example. Not so nice? That tight, stretched feeling my skin gets when the temperatures drop. Winter can dry your skin out, but it’s a surprisingly easy fix. You just need get the right winter skincare regimen, and focus on moisturizing from the inside out.

Of course, it’s important to remember that healthy, hydrated skin is a result of so much more than just moisturizers. You should be drinking your eight glasses of water every day, making an effort to move regularly, and eating lots of veggies. Oh, and never forget your SPF. I know it’s winter, but you still need the sun protection!

If you’re going to splurge on one beauty product, make it Augustinus Bader’s The Cream. If it seems like every single makeup artist, celebrity, and influencer is posting about this pricey little number, well – they are. But for good reason! The formula uses groundbreaking stem-cell technology that triggers your own stem cells to repair your skin.

But you don’t need to break the bank to get great skin! Drugstore options like Olay’s Regenerist and Neutrogena Hydro Boost are full of hyaluronic acids to keep your skin looking bouncy.

For the clean beauty obsessives out there, we’ve got you covered. Drunk Elephant’s Protini Polypeptide Cream uses nine different peptides to bind moisture to your skin. One of our editors has been using Weleda Skin Food for years. It’s an all-natural, super-affordable lotion that she swears is a pretty good La Mer dupe. She also uses it as a balm on just about everything. For an oldie but a goodie, you can’t go wrong with Kiehl’s Ultra Face Cream.
