Starting with the legend themselves, Away. The direct-to-consumer company’s luggage became an instant classic with their thoughtful design and attention to detail. They continue to roll out new products, but it doesn’t get better than their carryon in rose gold aluminum. It comes loaded with TSA-approved locks, 360 degree spinning wheels, and an ejectable battery so you never lose charge when you’re on the go.
Just getting away for a quick 36 hours? What you really need is a duffel. Paravel has a beautiful weekender in cream and tan leather that will make every road trip chicer. And when you do have a longer trip ahead of you, it makes for a perfect second personal item. Madewell has a slightly bigger, less structured weekender that will give you the look for less.
Although not entire practical, Ookon’s circular carryon in black leather is unbearably glamorous. While the shape might make packing slightly more difficult, it’s worth it for how cute the luggage. Especially with a custom monogram.
Rimowa’s aluminum carryon is the gold standard of suitcases. Chic, durable, and beautiful, their instantly recognizable design is definitely worth the splurge. It’ll last forever, and this is the rare suitcase that actually looks cooler a little bit dented up and covered in stickers.
