Why Camel Is The Chicest Color Of The Season

From coats to cashmere, shop our camel colored edit.

Why Camel Is The Chicest Color Of The Season

Camel makes everything look expensive. I don’t know how it does it, but a plain camel coat, no matter if it is fast fashion or haute couture, instantly lends a luxurious edge to any outfit you might be wearing.

It’s also a refreshing take on neutrals. Lately, I’ve been really drawn to crisp white tops, but it’s nice to switch it up a little bit. A camel sweater with black jeans, which feels a little warmer than the stark black and white I’ve had on repeat. Camel cashmere doesn’t have to be expensive to look expensive, J.Crew’s classic crewneck. Everlane has a great one, too! If you are willing to spend a little bit more money, spend it on a classic like this Ralph Lauren cable neck crewneck.

It doesn’t have to be basic, either. The fantastic sleeves on this Simkhai sweater make a statement all on their own, if you feel like cranking up the drama but stay cozy. The pom-pom detail on this sweater makes it another great addition to the statement sweater party. This quarter-zip cable neck combo looks like Toteme, but actually has a much friendlier price tag.

Onto the big one: coats. My first camel coat was one of those things that made me feel like a Real Woman, and I still feel like that now. It’s just so sophisticated. If you’re looking for a classic, Mango’s wool coat is sharp and polished and perfect.  This coat cinches at the waist, and is a really flattering silhouette. & Other Stories’ version is a little bit longer and lighter, but still just as stylish.  I love Tory Burch’s 70s-inspired coat with wide lapels. This giant teddy bear coat is shaggy, comfy, and modern.
