It’s a brand new year, and with the holidays behind us, I’m ready to focus on self-care. Lots of movement, recovery time on the couch, and early nights with a good book. Luckily, our edit of elevated activewear and loungewear can do all three. From cozy jackets to chic sweatpants, shop our athleisure edit now.
For me, this is the time of year when I look forward to working out most. After a few weeks of champagne and sofa lounging, it feels amazing to get up and move around. But if you’re a little nervous to get back into your routine, nothing motivates me more than a really great new outfit. Because getting dressed is 80% of the battle.
Let’s start with outerwear, because coats are one of my many love languages. I love the brand Varley, who always has a perfect mixture of fashion and function in their designs. This cream reversible quilt jacket is a great example! Not too precious to throw over a sweaty sports bra, but pretty enough to wear with your favorite sweater and jeans. I also love their half-zip fleece, which you can layer underneath for your own winter white moment.
On to something I never thought I’d say: workout trousers. Okay, so they’re not really trousers. But they look like them! These Rhone “trousers” have a flattering, easy-to-wear wide-leg silhouette like tons of my favorite pants, but they’re cut from comfy, athletic fabric perfect for movement. This has been quite the trend, like with these Donni Silk stripe track pants or these ME + EM track pants on the more fashion-y side of things. On the more athletic side of things, these Outdoor Voices track zip pant are the perfect companion for any hike or post-pilates class.
