This time of the year is perfect for self-reflecting, refreshing, and focusing on the year ahead. For me, it’s not about journaling or meditation as hard as I’ve tried both. It’s all about my bath ritual! A nice, long soak at the end of the day makes my body and mind feel soothed and ready to take on the next day. Get yourself a little peace of mind with our favorite bath products and kick your 2024 off right.
Before I even get in the bath, I love to start with a short dry-brushing session. It helps with lymphatic drainage and (on a more vanity-related note) cellulite. Goop Beauty’s Ultimate Dry Brush is a great one for beginners.
When it comes to body wash, you’d be surprised how nice it can feel to upgrade from that old bar. I love all of Necessaries’s offerings, and I keep The Body Wash stocked in my shower as well as the guest bathroom. For bubbles, I prefer well kept’s Bubble Bath or Lollia’s flowery, but not overwhelming bubble bath.
There’s more to a bath than just bubble bath, as fun as bubbles can be. I love Goop’s Martini Himalayan sea salt soak, which is is an “emotional detox”. Pursoma’s Resurrection soak uses sea salt, seaweed, and clay to soothe sore muscles. The brand also has a gentler, unscented Digital Detox soak that is supposed to remineralize your skin for better sleep.
Your bath experience isn’t over when the bath has gone cold, either. After you’re squeaky clean, don’t forget to hydrate with a moisturizer. Lately I’ve been gravitating towards body oils, which feel even more luxurious than lotion. Osea’s body algae oil and Augustinus Bader’s Body Oil are two excellent options at two totally different price points.
Finally, don’t forget to wrap your clean, well-moisturized body in something soft and cozy. Crate and Barrel’s Turkish white cotton robe is a little on the lighter side, but if you’re looking for something truly plush than Frette’s continental bathrobe is perfect for you.
