I’ve always been a high-low dresser. If I can get the look without spending a fortune, I’m all for it. But I also believe there are a few things worth investing in. For me, it’s all about the mix.
I like to spend a little more on the pieces I wear over and over again—great shoes, timeless jewelry, a beautiful handbag, and those wardrobe essentials that fit just right. Then I sprinkle in more affordable finds to keep my wardrobe feeling fresh and fun.
The magic happens when you put them together. A great pair of jeans with an inexpensive sweater. A simple dress with fabulous shoes. A chic blazer over a budget-friendly tee. No one knows what cost what—they just see a stylish outfit.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned over the years is that style has very little to do with price. It’s about how you put things together. Not everything needs to be an investment piece. In fact, some of my favorite finds have been the least expensive. The trick is knowing where to save, where to splurge, and building a wardrobe where everything works together.
To me, the goal isn’t to own expensive clothes. The goal is to create an expensive-looking wardrobe—and you don’t have to spend a fortune to do it.
Here are a few of my favorite high-low combinations:
