Every fall, no matter what hot new shoe is trendy, I always end up reaching for my loafers. They so versatile, elegant, and bring an intellectual edge to any outfit. Not to mention comfortable! This year, I’m loving a sleeker shape in suede. Shop some of our favorites below.
Suede loafers feel incredibly relevant this year. I don’t know if it’s the resurgence of brown or people are just craving something different, but I’m loving them! The softer shape of this Reformation loafer is perfect for padding around more casually. Tuckernuck’s suede loafers are a deep delicious brown in a classic penny loafer shape.
On the more classic side of things, you can’t go wrong with black. They go with everything, they’re comfortable enough to wear all day, and they’re dressy enough to wear instead of your favorite pair of black pumps. J.Crew’s new collection is all about the revival of prep, and these cute tassel-covered penny loafers are more sophisticated take on the schoolgirl classic. You can’t get beat a classic, and there’s not a more classic loafer than G.H. Bass’s loafers. I also love this flashier, woven version from Freda Salvador. It’s reminiscent of old Bottega loafers.
Going for more of a statement? A maximalist loafer can add something special to even your most worn-down jeans and t-shirt. In a sea of leopard print this season, these cowhide Massimo Dutti loafers could become a signature in any wardrobe. Boden has a great pair, too! You can take a walk on the slightly less wild side with these subtly croc-embossed Madewell loafers.
