I believe that when it comes to makeup, less is more. But one product I can’t live without? Concealer. Just a dab of it underneath eyes makes it easy for me to wear less makeup, and look more like the best version of myself. But older skin has different needs, and that’s true when it comes to makeup formulas, too. So I rounded up best concealers for mature skin – I hope they make you feel as good as I do.
Concealer isn’t a one size fits all product, and we all have different things we need when it comes to our skin. Let’s start with some old favorites! Sometimes, a product is just good – and it stays that way. The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer has been on the top of my list, and makeup artists’ lists, for years. The creamy formula is super blendable, and it stays on for awhile. Sometimes when I don’t need tinted moisturizer, I’ll just cover with this and then be on with my day!
Recently, as I’ve gotten more into clean beauty, I’ve fallen in love with Westman Atelier’s beautifully designed line of thoughtful, everyday makeup products. Her Foundation Stick can be used as a foundation, but that’s a little heavy for me so I use it for spot coverage. It’s never cake-y, which means it never settles into fine lines.
If you’re specifically looking for something to brighten under-eye circles, we love Hourglass’s Brightening Vanish Airbrush Concealer. This is a very full-coverage concealer, perfect for special occasions or big nights out.
One of the newer brands on our list, which we discovered growing Violet Grey one day, is Make Beauty’s Skin Mimetic Concealer. This is a newer brand, and the medium-coverage but still buildable formula proves it’ll be around for a while. There’s even caffeine in the formula to help depuff!
And of course, at our age, prepping the skin properly is just as important as the concealer itself. Don’t forget to dab on a proper eye cream before, and the next time you’re lounging on the sofa – throw some gel eye patches on!
