Not quite clear on what we mean by “slides?” The confusion is totally understandable as the slide is technically a mule, or vice versa, most often differentiated by the fact of their flatness and a pedicure peeping open toe, but not always. Slides can be leather, jute, metallic, or satin. Leather slides can be worn with everything from Bermuda shorts (if anyone is wearing Bermuda shorts) to skinny jeans, to a maxi dress. Slides are at home, at the market and if your office is super casual, at work. We keep them under our desks, the floor of our closet and inevitably, next to the chair we are sitting in. At the ready for fashion adaptability and all-around ease, the one detail of slides that unites us all is the fact they are, without a doubt, the laziest shoes on earth because all you need to do is… slide.
Two of our favorites are a peanut colored neutral leather slide that should probably make apologies for borrowing some Hermes style. From Sam Edelman and Coraline .
We can imagine that Cleopatra had a pair of these next to her bath but we see them with white jeans and anything boho.
