Summer doesn’t feel like summer without some kind of body of water. And that’s one way this summer isn’t different. Maybe it’s a beach, a lake, a pool, or just a sprinkler setup in your back yard. And if you’re lounging (and social distancing!) by water, you’re going to need bathing suits that you actually feel good in. And a cute cover-up for when you’re done lounging. And, of course, a beach read to enjoy while you’re lounging.
Let’s start with bathing suits. Personally, I have left the bikini behind. If you’re still rocking one, all the more power to you, but I love a one-piece too much to ever go back. One pieces look a lot different these days. This revealing-but-not-too-revealing black number is flattering and sexy. Eres’ Les Essentiels one pieces are minimalist, sleek, and retro-inspired. I love the saturated color of this fuchsia suit, and the clean lines on this black one. Love the look but not the price? COS has a black dupe right here for less. Finally, I could not be more obsessed with this black scalloped suit, which is delightfully feminine without being girlish.
Next, you need a just-as-cute coverup. This drawstring cotton organic dress from COS is giving me major Valentino vibes. But if you’re looking for something a little bit beachier, this white eyelet dress fits the bill. This pretty floral kaftan brings the drama if you want something a little extra, and so does this hot pink tunic from J.Crew.
You’ll need a pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting a little wet. You know I love a Birkenstock, and this silver rubber pair is perfect for sliding in and out of. The white pair is seriously stylish, too. Now all you need is the perfect tote bag, a big straw hat to protect your skin, and a new beach read to crack open.
