Here at In The Groove, we are still recovering from awards season. Best of this, best of that, so much “besting” that we feel the need to weigh in on our very own bests. Our best of beauty picks are what live on our bathroom countertops and in our totes. The beloved products that we, the editor’s of In The Groove, reach for every day. Admittedly, some are only in wishful everyday use but in a perfect world, we would take the time to use these products every day.
Best of beauty doesn’t just mean makeup. Cleansers to start the day and prep our faces for all the goodness of serums and creams that follow. Vitamin C, Neova DNA repair, and sunscreen are on the daily menu and this is before we get to the“prettying up part. We are forever hooked on Cle De Peau concealer for the texture, a Stila color-correcting palette for the variety, as well as Erborian BB and CC creams. A young one (daughter) turned us on to a new aqua foundation from Koh Gen Do exotically called “Maifanshi ” that feels like a waterfall and looks like silk and we don’t leave the house without one or two fave lipglosses firmly in place.
We have totally bought into the nighttime double cleanse ritual with a balm first, eye makeup remover if we’ve been glammed up and a milky cleanser next to remove all the sunscreen we are definitely wearing each day (aren’t we?). Closing our day out with best picks of a retinol treatment, a neck cream, and an eye cream because it makes us feel so darn virtuous to do it up right.
