Christmas gifts shouldn’t have to be expensive. It’s about picking something thoughtful and a little indulgent, not something that’s going to clear out your savings account. Especially in a year like 2020, when I want to give out gifts to just about everyone I know. So, read on for our Under $50 Gift Guide.
I’ve got stationery on the brain, probably because I want to a) support the post office and b) stop looking at screens all day. Papier is a new paper goods company that brings in designers to do limited-edition runs, like this lovely scalloped, mongorammed Matilda Goad design.
Everyone is getting a no-contact key from me in their stocking this year. This bedazzled one is extra fun. How about a smudge stick to sage away the bad vibes of 2020? Speaking of 2020, did any industry have as good of a year as puzzles? Piecework Puzzles make stunning, editorial puzzles that anyone would be happy to put together.
Tapered candles are having a moment in design right now, so why not give out some of the prettiest? I love Lex Pott’s standalone, twisted candle and I love it even more in candy cane stripe. These pretty, bubble-shaped candles are great fun, too. You can’t go wrong with Yves Saint Laurent, especially in a classic shade of red.
Ina’s new cookbook was just the inspiration I needed to get excited about cooking again, and your foodie friends will love it too. Or if they already have it, what about a beautiful new cake stand for all of their baked goods? And if all else fails, get them a funny pair of socks. They always put a smile on my face.
