10 Weekenders for Your Next Trip

Traveling smart on four wheels is the way to carry on!

10 Weekenders for Your Next Trip

Whether you are flying off on a girls trip to a canyon spa, a week of work/life/theater/fashion or one of those emotionally charged take your kid to look at college weeks, you will feel better knowing that you’ve behaved well – at least for the packing part of your journey. The good news is, weekenders have gotten extremely cute.

These days, carry on rules are a bit different for each commercial carrier and if you are flying internationally, do check before packing your passport. The new domestic budget airlines aren’t quite so budget-friendly as they charge more for carrying on heavier bags and everything from a cheese sandwich to a ukelele, so do some research.  Who doesn’t hate standing at a luggage carousel at zero-dark-thirty because you just had to pack ten pairs of shoes? Weekenders are the way to go and besides,  you will feel so much smarter when you actually wear everything in your suitcase.

When two of us finally broke down and anteed up to a four-wheeled spinner, our lives literally began to roll on a smoother path.  No longer struggling to pull a tilting behemoth as we watched fellow travelers glide through airport security was a huge relief. Sometimes we have to struggle to get the four wheels into the overhead bin, but it’s worth the gymnastics now that we have given up squeezing down the aisle and whacking the other passenger armrests. Life is full of trade-offs, isn’t it?

Rolling through Charles De Gaulle with a globe-trotting Gucci classic is tres tres chic. So is this very fun “never lose her gal-case” from Globetrotter.

All of our recommendations are curated by Susan & the In The Groove editorial team. In some, but not all cases, we receive a small commission for leading you to what, how and where to buy all this wonderful stuff.

Wendy shares stories from building her career in Hollywood, championing projects no one believed in at first, and navigating success in a male-dominated industry without losing her authenticity. In this episode, we talk about intuition, resilience, confidence, creative longevity, and what happens when you stop waiting for permission to trust yourself.
