The Best Skincare You Can Buy At The Drugstore

Feeling like a realist? Visit the drugstore for great skincare product.

The Best Skincare You Can Buy At The Drugstore

Ever wonder why we still ignore our own advice?  We’ve all been around the block and the cosmetic counter a few thousand times, haven’t we? Even worse, ever wonder why we ignore the advice of real doctors and scientists? We will bet you a free blow dry that most of us are guilty of just plain refusing to accept the truth of the science and supporting data of skincare. We want all those dreamy creams and potions to change our lives and so we look in the mirror and say “yup, it’s working, I am definitely, after one whole week of use, at least five years younger.” Hmmmm.

The cold hard reality of skincare is that most of it is just icing. It might obfuscate a few little lines and it can definitely feel lovely but with the exception of prescription strength Retin A, perhaps some Vitamin C and glycolic  acid to keep your skin clear, nothing works better than plenty of hydration and a good night’s sleep. There, I said it, a 532 billion (with a B) is based on a dream. More specifically, our dreams, and in the interest of making those more of a reality, we looked to the drugstore for the best reviewed, most reasonable and approachable products. This does not mean we we are swearing off the fancy stuff, it just means that we can also take a ride on the reality express. Fifty bucks at your local CVS or Target will get you the necessities and the rest is yours to enjoy because a girl has got to dream.

Our absolute favorite drugstore brand is by Cerave. This Hydrating Cleanser is the best, cleanest, non-irritating brand to date. Keep one in your shower and on your sink. You will not regret NOT spending a fortune on facial cleanser. Cerave also makes a simple night time moisturizer and the same formula for daytime with SPF. The brand is expanding to include some serum and more, so stay tuned.

We have been loving these glycolic exfoliating pads by Pixi Glow Peel,we cant promise a galactic glow, but our skin feels clean and snappy!  A retinol product getting lots of raves for its’ active ingredients is by ROC. And if you still suffer the indignity of the occasional “spot” these Alba Spot treatments do the trick. For a more serious outbreak, nothing works better than Differen Gel .

Neutrogena Moisture is where we go for an instant “plump” of moisture. It’s our fave , after sand ,sea and ski refresher,as it feels great and the price point invites you to slather it on from decollete on up. Why not?

All of our recommendations are curated by Susan & the In The Groove editorial team. In some, but not all cases, we receive a small commission for leading you to what, how and where to buy all this wonderful stuff.
