There’s a lot of pressure to become a better version of yourself during January. But what about taking some time to recharge and reset, so you’re ready to tackle the new year? For me, taking a bath is an easy but luxurious ritual that helps me feel better and think more clearly. The right bath ritual is a great way to create a new habit, especially if you’re doing Dry January.
Let’s get everything set up properly. If you, like me, enjoy reading a book or sipping something special in the tub then you’re going to need a bath caddy. Williams-Sonoma’s Mercer bath caddy is silver with a place for everything. For a more natural look, CB2’s live edge caddy is a more minimalist approach, and Ballard Design’s wooden ledge caddy is a more luxe version. I like to do a brisk dry brush before I soak, which helps with circulation. The Goop brush is perfect for beginners.
On to the soak itself. Are you more into a salt soak or pure bubble bath? Goop’s Martini Emotional Bath soak is packed with pink salt, chia seed oil, and frankincense to relax your body and mind. Lord Jones has individual packages of CBD bath salts to soothe sore muscles. Herbivore’s Calm Bath salts is a pretty shade of pink, but it’s also packed with ylang-ylang and vanilla.
On the soapier side of things, Antica Farmacista’s Grapefruit bubble bath smells as good as it looks. The bottle is so good-looking you can proudly display it on a vanity tray. Or, for the best of both worlds, grab the Honest Company’s Wind Down bubble bath.
Finally, finishing touches: you’re going to need a robe to wrap yourself up in. Williams-Sonoma’s monogrammed hydrocotton robe in crisp white gives off spa vibes, and Nordstrom’s version even comes in a pretty pink shade. Eberjey’s chalet robe is extra plush, and comes in three colors.
