I really miss my dermatologist. And I would love to get a facial. These are stressful times we’re living through, and it’s completely normal to go through the emotional roller coaster on a daily basis. I just wish I didn’t look so stressed. And while nothing is going to be as good as an injectable, here are the skincare products I’ve been relying on to take the edge off. I call them botox in a bottle, butplease, remember that I’m not a doctor. These are just the things that have been working for me, so I thought I’d share!
I love Ole Henrikesen’s PHAT Glow Facial Mask, which I bought because I was wistfully thinking of getting a facial at his old studio. While nothing can replace 90 minutes with an esthetician, this at-home version is a pretty close second. Hanacure’s at-home facial is also a great option, which you might remember from Instagram a few years ago.
Vitamin C is an ingredient I always look out for, because it helps with fine lines while brightening. That means it’ll get me closer to the dewy, hydrated skin I’m always aiming for. Goop Glow’s two-part Vitamin C system is the kind of product I saw in an immediate difference in my skin.
When it comes to moisturizing, there’s no cream better than Augustinus Bader’s The Cream. Unfortunately, it’s pretty pricey, but it is worth every penny. Drunk Elephant’s Lala Retro Whipped Cream is definitely more affordable, plus it’s certified clean for anyone trying to transition to green beauty.
Speaking of hydrating, the best thing you can do for your skin is to add a hyaluronic acid serum into your rotation. It plumps your skin, but also makes it more receptive to the serums that come after. That’s right, it actually makes your other skincare products work better. I love Dr. Barbara Sturm’s, but The Ordinary has a really great one, too. And it’s only six dollars!
